Beschrijving boek
Zion National Park, located in southern Utah, was established in 1909 to preserve dramatic canyons and cliffs caused by erosive forces.
By A.J. Eardley and James W. Schaack.
The late Dr. Eardley, a graduate of the University of Utah with graduate work at Princeton University, served as president of the Utah Geological Society and the American Geological Institute. A past dean of the College of Mines, University of Utah, he was serving as Emeritus Professor of Geology at the time of his death. Jim Schaack has retired from the National Park Service after many active years in the protection and interpretation of our natural areas, including his assignment as chief naturalist at Zion National Park. He is a graduate of Albion College and the University of Michigan, with graduate work at Colarado State University. The heritage of Herbert E. Gregory influences any description of the phenomena of Zion. This publication, updating and expanding his basic works, is written in tribute to this talented and sensitive man.
